Pathways To Rebates

Riverstone Psychology is able to offer Medicare or Health Fund rebates. Medicare rebates can be processed immediately, payments can be made by EFTPOS, Mastercard, or Visa. Your rebate will be paid by Medicare into the account you have nominated with them.

Private Health Insurance rebates vary between funds you will need to access your private health fund rebate directly from your health fund. Please make enquiries with your health fund before attending your session.

Because of the impact it has on those waiting for appointments, it is important to keep late cancellations or people simply not attending to a minimum. Riverstone Psychology has a cancellation policy that reflects this respect for others in need. If less than 48 hours notice is given, or the client does not attend 100% of the usual fee will apply (+ GST).

Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative

(Mental Health Care Plan)

1. To access your Medicare rebate you must be referred under a Mental Health Treatment Plan by your GP, a pediatrician or psychiatrist.
2. Please bring your referral with your Mental Health Treatment Plan to your appointment.
3. After 6 appointments the referrer will be provided with a report from your practitioner. This report will outline the assessment and treatment provided, recommendations and if necessary a request for further appointments.
4. If further appointments are required, you will need to return to the referrer for a review. The review will determine eligibility for up to an additional 4 appointments (totaling 10 appointments in a calendar year).
5. You can then return to the practitioner for the specified number of appointments.
